Lisa Mac’s new single, “Getaway”, has now got visuals to accompany it.
The track begins with what sounds like minor interference, interspersed with what is some clapping drum. Other drum aspects sound more akin to tuning an analogue radio. It is quite diverse, in the rhythm sense, as it also features rattling drum machine. This all combines for a distorted, almost industrial and quite bleak song.
Its video, shot by Iconick, appears to show a mass of people being brainwashed by a static television. This is set against illuminous colours, akin to glow sticks in a nightclub but on a bigger, more sensational scale. Maybe the black and white static of the television conveys slavery, and the bright colours of the night scene represent freedom?
