“Premiered by FADER, the visual for “Mandarin Oranges Part 2″ is the first official video taken from Little Simz’ eagerly anticipated debut EP set for release late spring. Shot in Venice Beach and the Los Angeles river, the video from the North London hailing rising superstar sets the tone for the forthcoming EP as she takes you on an honest journey into her world, life and growth.
Following the well received live premiere of the track via her debut BBC Radio 1 Maida Vale session (Little Simz is one of the first unsigned rappers to do a BBC Radio 1 Maida Vale session before even releasing an official single), the video also marks the unveiling of the studio version produced by Sango, with additional production by El Nino Blanco.
The 20-year-old rapper and musician was thrust into the spotlight following the release of her 4th mixtape Blank Canvas, which was premiered on Jay Z’s Life+Times in September 2013. The premiere soon led to global accolade as she became tipped to watch by the likes of Noisey, The Independent and many more. Securing various performances at the very recent SXSW festival, Simz is well on her way to stardom. Simz’ debut EP is set for release this spring and features production from the likes of Sango, Jakwob, High Frequency, OTG along with various surprises, which are soon to be revealed.”
