Ethiopian born model Liya Kebede has become Vogue Paris’ first black cover star in five years. Covering the May issue, the maternal health advocate is shot by Inez and Vinoodh wearing Dior’s current season collection. Though copies haven’t hit newsstands yet, the issue promises to follow suit to the cover with psychedelic looks. The last time a solo model of colour appeared on the cover of Vogue Paris was 2010’s March issue with Rose Cordero taking the front page. The issue comes just two months after Jourdan Dunn became British Vogue’s first model of colour in over twelve years.
