‘Heaven on Earth‘ is the name of the new Louis Vuitton campaign for its Fall/Winter 2020 men’s collection, which displays a surrealist and typical image of Heaven, a blu sky and white clouds. This vision is the symbol of freedom, unity, and peace.
The new idea for the collection was designed by the artistic director of the French fashion house’s menswear, Virgil Abloh and reflects the man’s morals and values, such as unity in diversity and inclusivity. The collection, as a matter of facts, seems to revisit the typical suit with an attempt of neutralisation of the old and traditional dress code for men.
With the project, Abloh focuses the collection on the display of the world through the unspoiled eyes of young boys. For this reason, the runway for the show was characterised by extra large versions of particular items such as scissors, a paintbrush, a ruler, a hammer and a needle, while the background was painted to look like a blue sky with clouds hanging from the ceiling.
The color range is very pure and dreamlike: royal blues, earthy browns and sparkly accents. The collection offers a great variety of shapes and sizes of the signature pieces. Bomber jackets, ruffled shirts, bedazzled high-top sneakers and bold-colored bags. The accessories include monogram-printed wallets, sunglasses and crocodile leather belts.
The official photoshoot of the campaign was captured by photographer Tim Walker in London, with the collaboration of great talents such as Ghanaian model Ottawa Kwami and British actor Michael Ward.
