M.I.A. has been very vocal lately, especially about her mistreatment by her record label regarding her upcoming album. Among threatening to leak it and criticising their lack of support, she’s also warned that she may be done with music. However, not all is lost, as today she’s announced the album’s title and release date, along with its lead single.
M.I.A.’s long awaited follow-up to Matangi is called AIM and it’s due for release Friday, September 9 with the single out tomorrow, featuring Skrillex, called “Go Off”. Along with the announcement, she shared the album artwork and a post written by author Sinthujan Varatharajah, focussing on the plight of refugees.
