M83‘s vocalist and lead songwriter Anthony Gonzalez has revealed his bleak musical worldview in a Pitchfork interview, ahead of the band’s next album Junk. “I feel like we’re losing this culture of making things” said Gonzalez, in a critique of pop culture.
“There were so many new horizons then… Nowadays, everything has already been done before. I truly believe that… It’s impossible to come up with something new”. The statement follows M83’s recent unveiling of their new single “Do It, Try It” and delightfully kitschy artwork. Junk, the long awaited follow up to Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming is released April 08 via Mute Records.
