Madonna, the reigning Queen Of Pop, was right royally peeved off when the plug was pulled at her Glasgow show last night (December 20) after she performed past her 11pm curfew. The show, part of her Rebel Heart tour, over-ran due to a late start from the Material Girl herself – and of course, we shouldn’t expect anything less from a superstar like Madonna.
When the venue staff at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro arena turned off both her sound and lights, Madonna carried on regardless – the trooper that she is. She performed acapella for a further 30 minutes, telling her adoring fans that she loved them. By the time she returned for an encore of Holiday, the venue lights were on, but that didn’t stop the audience from joining in.
Madonna later posted a message on Instagram, saying “We don’t stop till its over Glasgow! Don’t try to silence the queen.” Long live the Queen Of Pop!
