A former Israeli reality TV show contestant has been sentenced to jail for 14 months, along with being fined 15,000 shekels (£2,600). Adi Lederman, known for auditioning for the Israeli American Idol in 2012, was arrested in January after government agents tracked him down. The hacker leaked 13 of Madonna’s unfinished demos to the internet through her iCloud and email. Lederman’s lawyer told the court he was “not someone with a criminal mentality, but rather, a very fired-up and impassioned collector who went too far”. Madonna’s album was released to the public in March but she says the leak still “remains a deeply devastating and hurtful experience“.
