The choice of celebrating her 60th birthday in Morocco and sharing exclusive pictures of her dressed like a queen of desert, wearing original African clothes and accessories; all this shows how much this part of the world is meaning to her now.
Madonna really seems to be more and more attached to Africa. She has adopted 4 children from Malawi and is doing intense charity work there. Plus, she decided to launch a special Birthday Fundraiser, teaming up with Facebook, under the motto “Let’s raise Malawi”.
But the latest news comes from the expressed desire of one of the four, the oldest David Banda, adopted in 2006 with the ex-husband Guy Ritchie. At the moment, David is playing in the youth setup at Benfica, one of the main Portuguese soccer teams and this led the “Material Girl” singer to move to Lisbon recently.
Madonna is still the same diva, singer, model, actress, icon but more often now she fills the role of a supportive mother, especially in the charitable causes she is involved in.
Her youngest adopted twins Estere and Stella were delivered by caesarean section and their mother died within a week because of complications from the birth but Madonna confirmed she will keep their birth names as part of an effort to preserve their identity as Malawians and show immense respect to the country.
She founded an hospital in the African nation and has now announced to build a football academy there, which has been welcomed by the Malawi Football Association president Walter Nyamilandu.
Late birthday wishes to Madonna. Go on sharing your love!
