Majid Jordan’s “Make It Work” appears on the Canadian duo’s self-titled LP, which came out in February past. They are said to be already back in the studio cooking up some new music.
“Make It Work” is a moody one, those clapping drums really kick with some venom. Intermittent bass grooves, weaving in and out your ears. The vocals are moody and soulful, heartthrob singing for the ladies. There is a vocal refrain, percussion only lightly tapping in the background, before kicking back in proper and then fading out.
The visuals take place in numerous places; at home, in the club and on the road. Perhaps decadence took place at the club, driving hurriedly to get home and resume the weekend festivities. Things go pear shaped, and he sits on his chair at home, ruminating over what went wrong and all the regrets he has. Flight, rather than fight, as he races off into the night.
