Musician, Marilyn Manson, has spoken in defence of old friend, Johnny Depp, in a recent interview with The Daily Beast.
In the wake of a messy and scandalous split from actress, Amber Heard, Depp has received words of support from various different sources, including exes Winona Ryder and Vanessa Paradis. Now Marilyn Manson – the godfather of his seventeen-year-old daughter, Lily-Rose – has also spoken up.
Manson described Depp as “one of the nicest people I know, to the extent where it is almost heartbreaking how kind he is to friends and everyone around him. I know what he was completely crucified unjustly.” Adding, “I’d stand by Johnny on anything. I know he’s handling it the best he can. He’s a great dad, too. It fills me with joy to see his kids grow up so smart and so hilarious”.
Heard withdrew her domestic abuse allegations when the actors’ divorce settlement was finalised in August. Depp agreed to pay the $7 million settlement to Heard’s chosen charities, one of them being the domestic abuse charity ACLU.
Manson’s new album, SAY10, is due for release on Tuesday, February 14 2017.
