Ahead of making their Glastonbury debut, indie-pop four-piece Marsicans have released their off-beat and upbeat single “Far Away (Saudade)”.
Having formed in secondary school five years ago, the Leeds-based band are now beginning to embrace a larger fan-base – and deservedly so. With refined harmonies, infectious riffs and a rough rock edge, these four musicians are further proving why they should share the stage with the likes of Catfish & the Bottlemen and The Pigeon Detectives, among others.
The song itself, while filled with energy, is tinged with melancholy as leadsinger James Newbigging sings of keeping spirits high in times of extreme loneliness. The lyrics “You can talk to me for hours” have stuck in my mind because, guys, we can listen to you for hours.
