Classic UK Trip hop group Massive Attack have shared a video for their track “The Spoils”, which features vocals from Hope Sandoval and a particularly unnerving performance from Cate Blanchette, which was directed by John Hillcoat. The video shows Cate Blanchette’s head spinning around, changing appearance repeatedly using a variety of off-putting, unsettling techniques that give the video a very intentional sense of horror, including images of decay and erosion which end in a blank face.
“The Spoils” is from their recent EP of the same name, following this year’s album Ritual Spirit.
