UK-based artist MAUVEY has announced the release of Before The Album 3, the final chapter in his acclaimed series, set for early 2025. Alongside the announcement, he unveiled his new single, “Pray For You,” a powerful afro-fusion track designed to inspire and uplift.
MAUVEY describes Before The Album 3 as a collection of anthems aimed at celebrating and motivating listeners. “Pray For You” has a straightforward message that reflects my goal of distributing love,” says MAUVEY, whose music spans Afro, pop, hip-hop, alternative, and electronic genres.
Born in Ghana and raised in the UK and Canada, MAUVEY has built a distinct sound that defies categorization, blending diverse influences into a unique Afro-fusion style.
The forthcoming album follows his previous releases, including 2022’s BEFORE THE ALBUM: a love letter to the moons of mars and 2023’s BEFORE THE ALBUM 2: a brief overview, which featured collaborations with artists like Lights and received critical acclaim from BBC Radio 1, Complex Canada, and others.
MAUVEY’s stage presence has been celebrated worldwide, with performances at major events like Glastonbury, SXSW, and a global tour across the USA, Brazil, Canada, and the UK. He has also opened for artists such as July Talk, easy life, and Snotty Nose Rez Kids, and played at notable festivals including The Great Escape and Boomtown.
Upcoming shows include a headline UK tour in November, with stops in cities like Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, and London.
