Fast-rising rapper Megan Thee Stallion has unveiled the music video for her hot track “Realer“, the video is inspired by 70’s Blaxploitation films, and sees Meghan and “Thee Hotties” going to take ILL Will Jackson down in Houston. The video is infectious and packed with vibrant colours, which remind us of the 70’s, where it takes its inspiration from.
Directed by Munachi Osegbu, the video sees Meghan and her ladies in swimsuits and vintage clothes, in reference to the classic Foxy Brown character, played by Pam Grier, the iconic actress from the Blaxploitation era. The video matches the track perfectly, with Megan addressing the haters, “I keep it realer than real / F**k all the critics and f**k how they feel / I’m getting money, it is what it is / They wanna know how I did what I did…”
Recently Megan was embroiled in a controversy about ghostwriting allegations; the singer Wolftyla took social media to claim that she wrote portions of “Simon Says” featuring Juicy J, which featured on Megan’s new mixtape Fever. The rapper responded that “Don’t nobody write my s**t for me” on Instagram. In more positive news, Megan was also recently nominated for a BET Award in the female rap category.
Megan Thee Stallion is on an unstoppable roll and she is about to take the rap game by storm. “Realer” features on her brand new project Fever, which was released on May 16, watch the video below.
