Melody Prochet – best known as Melody’s Echo Chamber – poses for the press smoking a cigarette and wearing a protective amulet. The French singer has shared new song “Shirim”, which in Hebrew means “Songs”, the first single for her as-of-yet untitled upcoming sophomore album. Her 2012 self-titled debut was produced by Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker and released on Fat Possum but Prochet is doing things on her own this time around, and is doing a hell of a job.
The track is nothing else but a kaleidoscopic masterpiece. Her voice, as beautiful and fragile as ever, along with a tune fully equipped with bass-drives, fuzzy guitars and all kind of psychedelic effects wrapped around the song, creates a hazy surreal atmosphere that takes different shapes in every turn. Pretty awesome. Listen to “Shirim” below via Spotify.
