Metronomy – Wedding Bells | New Music

The release of Metronomy Forever is approaching and Joe Mount’s genre-defying collective Metronomy has dropped their new single “Wedding Bells” in anticipation.

The track adds to the diverse collection of recent tracks that show the depth and variety of what is Metronomy’s most ambitious album to date. It has received radio support across the board including A-list support from BBC 6 Music and plays from Radio 1’s Annie Mac, Jack Saunders, Clara Amfo and Phil Taggart.

“Wedding Bells” brings a chugging guitar riff before some ‘80s-tinged synths echo throughout the main hook. The song has a melancholic mood. “I hear wedding bells,” sings Mount, before sorrowfully adding, “But they’re not for me.” The song unveils a huge variety of emotions that come with love, sex and romance.

The album’s release is set to be on September 13, but is now available to pre-order. Metronomy will launch the new album with four in-store performances and signing sessions at Rough Trade.

The band will play Rough Trade East at 1pm and 7pm on September 13 before heading to play the Bristol store on September 14 at 2pm and 7pm. They’ll also performance a special album launch show in association with Resident at Brighton’s Concorde 2 on September 16. Do not miss them if you have the chance!
