Mild High Club have shared a weighty new track, “Homage”. The Los Angeles project will release new album, Skiptracing, on Friday, August 26 through Stones Throw Records. Founder Alexander Brettin says, cryptically, “When you wish upon the unknown, you might be surprised by the rewards”.
“Homage” opens with busy bass. The song, generally, seems to have a classical bent to it, yet is quite soulful. A restrained, yet melodic guitar solo definitely has an emotional aspect to it. The last minute mark sees the track seem to slow down, then gradually pick up pace, again. A twin melody sees the track away for the fadeout.
