Don Cheadle‘s Miles Davis biopic, Miles Ahead, explores the Jazz legend in an experimental period; with drugs as well as music. It is therefore fitting that the posters for Miles Ahead reflect the vibrancy and psychedelic nature of this period, being richly coloured in yellow, blue and pink (see below).
Cheadle’s examination of the innovative musician is episodic in nature, charting his rise in New York, his emergence as a pioneer of modal Jazz and various other forms, his transition to experimental forms and his eventual decline into drugs that would see him temporarily put down his trumpet and withdraw from music.
We shall witness all of this but the narrative is centred on an event in the latter-mentioned stage, involving Rolling Stone journalist Dave Braden (Ewan McGregor) and stolen musical recordings.
Don Cheadle stars as the legend himself in Miles Ahead, which will be released April 22. You can see the posters and the trailer below.
