After hitting big with writing the screenplay for American Sniper, which touched on the theme of PTSD only briefly, screenwriter Jason Hall is set to make his directorial debut with Thank You For Your Service, an adaptation of David Finkel’s 2013 novel about soldiers dealing with post traumatic stress disorder after arriving home from duty.
Today it has been announced that Whiplash star Miles Teller has been cast in one of the three main roles – his first major role announced following the box office flop of Fantastic Four last weekend, in which he was the main star. The film is currently in pre-production, with no other cast details or release date information yet to be released, but expect Dreamworks pictures to move quickly in the hopes of cashing in on American Sniper’s success.
