21-year old burgeoning vocalist Mullally has unveiled his newest single for New Music Friday, the pop soul jam “Sweet Coffee” featuring a stunning vocal display from London songstress Bassette.
With the incomparable P2J on production, who’s worked with everyone from Stormzy to Lily Allen, “Sweet Coffee” displays the rising stars unique and powerful vocal ability, positioning him as a true contender for 2018. Combining soft melodies and poignant harmonies, Mullally perfectly blends his inspirations from R&B, Pop and Soul, marrying them together to create a blissful all-encompassing sound.
Mullally says: “’Sweet Coffee‘ for me is exploring all the avenues of the analogy of someone being your ‘Sweet Coffee’. How someone can wake you up and keep you awake and excited all day. It’s referencing the addiction of new love and needing to go back to the same person every morning, every day, so that your ‘sweet coffee’ can wake you up. It’s youthful, it’s happy; it’s about young new love”
While still a fledgling in the music industry, he comes with credibility. His smash hit “Wonderful” is liked by many – 3 million streams and counting on Spotify is testament to that – and he just recently performed at SXSW. With plenty of big-name support behind him like Radio 1, 1Xtra, MTV and The 405, you know he’s hotly tipped for success.
