Nelly Furtado has revealed new details about her upcoming sixth studio album via her Twitter account.
The 37-year old Canadian-Portuguese star has kept details tightly under wraps until now, however it was expected that producer Dev Hynes would appear on the project after she collaborated with him on his recent Hadron Collider EP which he released on cassette.
Furtado has however dispelled those rumours, and it seems the album has been produced entirely by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Erykah Badu, The Roots). She also stated that the this project will be more similar in style to her 2000 debut album Whoa, Nelly!
The upcoming album will be the follow-up to 2012’s The Spirit Indestructible, which was well-received by critics however failed to reach the massive commercial success of her 2006 album Loose which spawned the huge hits “Maneater”, “Promiscuous”, and “Say It Right”.
The album is expected to be released later this year.
