As recently confirmed by guitarist Stephen Carpenter during a guitar convention in Anaheim, California, the new Deftones‘ album is on its way and it will be released on April 8.
The follow-up to 2012 Koi No Yokan will be their 8th studio album and it is yet to be titled. It will also be their first release after the death of bass player Chi Cheng in 2013, following injuries sustained in a car crash in 2008.
“[We’re] sitting around waiting for the release of our new record,” said Carpenter. “It comes out April 8th. We have some dates in Texas in March, in May-June we’re off to Europe for some festivals out there. We’ll play for all the people who are interested and want to hear it.”
