Not only have Swim Deep described their forthcoming record as ‘psychedelic sex music’, they have likened it to both Kanye West’s latest album and Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours album. “We want to radicalize chart music, so we’ve taken Kanye West’s ‘Yeezus’ and Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Rumours’ and put them together with acid house… If the first album was about getting out of Birmingham then this one’s about getting off the planet. It’s a zero-gravity gospel record for the masses”. The album is set to come out this summer and will be the follow up to 2013’s Where The Heavens Are We. Speaking about the band’s ambitions with the new record, lead singer Austin Williams has stated that the aim is to lift people’s depression and give them an escape through the music.
