Universal has released the first full-length trailer for the sci-fi adaptation of Philip Reeve‘s sci-fi fantasy novel Mortal Engines, with a screenplay by Lord of the Rings trio Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens.
Jackson, who will also produce the film, teased at CinemaCon that “visually, it will be like nothing you’ve ever seen before”, and described the upcoming adaptation — which marks the directorial debut of his long-time collaborator Christian Rivers — as “a wild ride with a very human story at its heart”.
Due out later this year, Mortal Engines takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where gigantic moving cities are in perpetual conflict with one another.
