Nigerian-born artist King Bobby has just released his latest track, “Giran From Home”, on November 28th. This Amapiano-inspired song carries a simple but powerful message, that being no matter where life takes you, always remember your roots. The encouraging song is easy to lose yourself in as it combines a reflective tone with upbeat energy.
The song’s Amapiano influence is really heard in the piece, especially in the chorus. It starts with a calm percussion beat, but the chorus ramps up, drawing you in with its infectious rhythm. The addition of including piano notes in the second verse gives the track a nice, layered feel, giving the sound a little more depth.
King Bobby is known for his powerful vocal presence and versatility. The Lagos-born artist, who now calls Johannesburg home, has worked with international names like South African rapper Emtee, demonstrating even more his global influence. He is also known for creating Afro Piano beats and Hip-Hop music by blending different styles and genres.
King Bobby’s passion for music began at a young age, and he grew up listening to a variety of genres, including Hip-Hop, Afrobeats, Gospel, R&B, and Soul. He transitioned to making his own music in the early 2010s, and his career has only continued to grow since then. He remains committed to his independent approach to music: “My music, my truth.”
“Giran From Home” follows the success of King Bobby’s previous work, including his sophomore EP, This Phase of Life. Released last year, the EP has gathered over 2 million streams across platforms, includes songs that are popular, in the UK, Namibia, South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya.
