Nigo, the new creative director of the famous Kenzo brand, has unveiled his third capsule collection, for the Kenzo Spring/Summer 2022 collection. The capsule collection, created in anticipation of the designer’s first in-store collection, celebrates Japanese denim.
Nigo’s first show for Kenzo took place this Sunday, January 23, 2022, during the Men’s Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2022, in the famous Vivienne Gallery in Paris, with many stars in attendance such as Kanye West, Julia Fox, Pusha T, Tyler The Creator, Dominik Fike and many others.
Nigo, who in addition to being a famous Japanese designer is also a DJ, was appointed artistic director for Kenzo last September. His first collection was highly acclaimed. It featured many bright colours and floral prints echoing the cheerful and optimistic image of the founder of the house Kenzo Takada, and has released two capsule collections so far before this one.
After the signature red flower on a military-inspired collection and the house’s emblematic tiger, Nigo presents a unisex collection based on Japanese denim for this third capsule collection.
The collection includes a classic straight jacket with flat pockets and straight jeans in two washes, a knee-length trapeze skirt in light denim, an oversized white cotton T-shirt and an overshirt with blue and white stripes. All the pieces in Japanese denim are of course adorned with the red Kenzo flower.
The limited edition capsule will be available at the end of the week! You can find it on April 2 in a series of boutiques and on KENZO.COM. Don’t miss it!
