A new Nina Simone tribute album Nina Revisited… A Tribute To Nina Simone, is being released 12 years after the lengendary singer’s death, on July 10. The album includes tributes from the likes of Ms. Lauryn Hill, Usher, Mary J. Blige and many more. The tribute album is led by RCA and Lauryn Hill, with production helmed by Jayson Jackson, Suzette Williams, Peter Edge and Robert Glasper.
The tribute album is also pegged to the release of the Liz Garbus documentary What Happened, Miss Simon? which debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is available now on Netflix. The daughter of a preacher man and “The High Priestess of Soul”, Nina Simone was one of the greatest singer-songwriters of the modern age, Lauryn Hill especially honours that legacy with six tracks on this tribute album, the most she has released since her 1998 album The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill.
