Introducing New York-based singer-songwriter Niqa Mor who announces herself to the world with her boldly-titled 13-track debut project titled DEFY, together with a stunning visual trailer directed by Los Angeles-based Damien Sandoval (Bobby Brackins, The-Dream). Previous notable releases include the soul-filled “One Step” as well as some super-vibrant remix/covers of Drake’s “Draft Day” and Future’s “I Won”.
In recent months, Niqa has released the visuals for the non-album single “Conquer”, directed again by Damien Sandoval, whilst also hitting the stage alongside Nitty Scott MC and opening for Maybach Music crooner Omarion. Speaking further on the project, the singer says: “I would say DEFY is a true introduction to Niqa Mor, and me really coming into my own. I would describe my sound as organic whilst also quite experimental”, and like “Hip-hop and Pop-infused R&B with a confident grown, and sexy edge to it”. Listen to the full album below.
