Independent Chicago rapper NonameNo has been teasing new music for quite some time. And after revealing via Twitter on Boxing Day that she’ll be dropping something for New Years, we finally get some fresh new music for 2019.
Teaming up with frequent collaborator Phoelix, Noname helps us kick off the new year in style with “Song 31“, her first slice of new music since releasing her critically acclaimed album Room 25. While the title name is rather ambiguous, the rapper poetically rhymes about the desire to make money and its adverse societal effects over full, jazz-tipped melodies and Phoelix’s eager vocal effort on the chorus.
The song has already received a lot of love on social media, getting fans hyped for her 2019 US tour in support of Room 25. It commences today (January 2) with a show in Detroit, concluding in March with a show in San Diego.
