North London Duo Aurora Dee Raynes Unveil New Single ‘The Letter’

Aurora Dee Raynes‘ latest single “The Letter” is out now and is taken from their debut album Invisible Things, which arrives on November 26.

The new single comes on the back of recent support from Gilles Peterson, Huey Morgan, and Tom Ravenscroft (BBC 6Music), Bandcamp Weekly, Clash Magazine, THUMP, Stereofox, Laurent Garnier, Toshio Matsuura, NTS, and Spotify for previous singles “Crazy That You Love” and “Find My Way”.

“The Letter” examines the value of honesty in emotional, complex relationships. With a sparse, funky opening, the track’s layers expand and shift up and down, bringing you back around, as if the listener is caught in the middle of the most intimate and private conversation a couple could have.

As the band’s lead singer Danielle Kranendonk explains, “The power in the song and the strength in the vocals are me becoming/being that powerful woman. Telling you how it is… If you don’t have transparency in any relationship – open or closed – you’re not being true to yourself or them”.

“The Letter” will be available on a limited 500 run, double A-side 7″ alongside “Crazy That You Love”, in addition to the digital release of Invisible Things. The physical version contains a download card with the entire album, as well as the singles put to vinyl for the first time.

Invisible Things, the result of nearly seven years of composing and recording, goes beyond Aurora Dee Raynes’ unique sounds to become a vibrant, dynamic piece of work, with themes of love, family and loss running throughout, that is organically connected in who the group is as a collective.
