Ghanaian-Canadian artist Ohemaah has released her latest afrobeats single, “Runnin’,” from her forthcoming album, Roots. This new track explores themes of love, resilience, and partnership, focusing on overcoming relationship challenges and being a supportive partner.
Ohemaah is known for her sultry vocals and captivating instrumentals, blending Pop, Afropop/World, and Acoustic music. Despite being relatively new to the music scene, she has established herself as a prolific songwriter and musician, with over 200 songs written, two albums released, and three music videos produced. A classically trained pianist and guitarist, Ohemaah also produces, arranges, and screenwrites her music videos.
She has performed alongside notable artists, including Social Club, Mali Music, DaTruth, and recently opened for Sarkodie, Ghana’s leading rap artist, during his Jamz World Tour in Las Vegas. Her music is influenced by her African heritage, global travels, and inspirations from musical legends like Whitney Houston, Jill Scott, CeCe Winans, Al Jarreau, Tracy Chapman, Adele, Harry Belafonte, and South African icons Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masakela.

Born in Ghana and raised in Canada, Ohemaah’s musical journey began early, inspired by her parents, both musicians. Her professional career took off in 2012, and since then, she has continued to push creative boundaries, fusing pop with jazz and world music styles. With a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University, Ohemaah combines her musical talent with a strong educational background, dedicated to bringing heartfelt messages through her music.
