American singer Omar Apollo has revealed his new track “Tamagotchi” from his upcoming Ivory album.
Following 2020’s Apolonio album, Ivory will be released on April 8. Some songs had already been shared such as the collaborative track “Invincible” featuring Daniel Caesar and “Killing Me”.
Produced by The Neptunes‘ Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, the new single “Tamagotchi” was recorded with them last year in in a trip in Miami.
While giving an interview to Zane Lowe, Omar Apollo described his collaborative experience with the pair, “That was the craziest trip of my life. I remember the first night I didn’t even sleep.”
He added with a bright smile “He loved what I made. We were talking about it and he brought up everyone upstairs. Pusha T was there.”
In the same interview, the artist shared his doubts about the previous version of album Ivory that he hated and cancelled it two days before the first video shoot, “I just found myself compromising so much I wasn’t excited about it releasing. I wasn’t hype about performing ’em or learning ’em. I could tell something’s missing. The soul is gone“.
Apollo threw away the previous project and come back after three months with a completely different album.
“Tamagotchi” arrives on the verge of his ‘Desvelado’ tour, kicking off on April 5 in Portland.
