It was 2009 when we last encountered the iconic Jason Voorhees on screen, by the hand of Marcus Nispel‘s movie Friday the 13th, which is the twelfth installment in the successful franchise.
Since then, there have been plans of starting a reboot of the entire franchise, but it seems that fans will have to wait a little bit longer than expected: indeed, a report from The Wrap states that director David Bruckner, who has previously worked on the project, has dropped out after several delays on the movie’s development.
But fear not: the film, which has been pushed back until January 3, 2017, will not be your only way of seeing Jason in action; a TV series has been developed by The CW, with Steve Mitchell and Craig Van Sickle writing the script.
So it might not be on the big screen yet, but the iconic hockey mask will soon reach your homes people. Stay alert!
