At Saturday night’s 65th Grammy Awards where comedian Trevor Noahwas the host again at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the red carpet did not let us down.
The biggest night in music is seldom a letdown, and this year was no exception. Musicians made strong fashion statements, whether it was with garish capes (like Lizzo‘s custom Dolce & Gabbana) or long, sweeping trains (like Amanda Gorman‘s Prada).
The finest dressed were those who managed to combine a feeling of sophistication and refinement with the high drama typical of the Grammy Awards.
Taylor Swift wore a pair of a dark blue crop top and a silver sequin-covered skirt. The singer of “Anti-Hero” also posed while wearing red lipstick and big silver earrings with purple jewels in them.
Harry Styles, the former One Direction singer and six-time Grammy nominee, arrived in Los Angeles ready to steal the show on the red carpet in men’s fashion. The artist appeared in public wearing an EgonLab rainbow jumpsuit. He dressed up with rings and piled necklaces.
For instance, Doja Cat adopted a vampy look in a Versace black one-shoulder latex gown that came with matching opera gloves. In a beaded Naeem Khan outfit that shone as brightly as she did, Viola Davis won the EGOT award. Anitta, though, had the night’s best vintage moment.
The Versace gown was worn by the Brazilian singer in 2003. The strapless style had intricate ruching, which made it feel contemporary and new even 20 years later.
