Ahead of its first full trailer release this week, Chris Columbus‘ video game adventure Pixels gets a cool new teaser! Starring the likes of Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage, Ashley Benson and Josh Gad, Pixels tells the story of Earth as it’s invaded by aliens in the form of classic 80’s video-game characters. With characters such as Donkey Kong, Space Invades, Centipede and the dreaded Pac-Man; it’s up to arcade game whiz, Sam Brenner (Sandler), to save the day. Along for the ride is his childhood nemesis (Dinklage), a young gaming prodigy (Gad) and a military advice specialist (Michelle Monaghan).
The teaser really is just that – a tease, so I’m looking forward to seeing what the full trailer has to offer tomorrow. With Columbus bringing us the likes of Mrs. Doubtfire, Nine Months and Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets, I’ve got no worries about his ability to pull off an exciting adventure with the right amount of family comedy!
