Today Paramount Pictures and Skydance have released a teaser-trailer for the upcoming British-American sci-fi thriller film Annihilation.
It’s a movie directed by Alex Garland which is based on the first book of the Southern Reach Trilogy written by Jeff VanderMeer.
The story is about a biologist, who after her husband disappears joins a team of women composed of an anthropologist, a psychologist and a surveyor who are doing an investigation into an environmental disaster zone known as Area X. This is the 12th investigation into this area because all the others were characterized by disappearances, suicides, aggressive cancers, and mental trauma.
The biologist is played by the remarkable Natalie Portman and the rest of the cast includes such notable names as Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez and Tessa Thompson.
The movie will be released in theaters on February 23, 2018
