The talented rapper Phundo Art and singer SHIKA are back on the music scene with their new collaborative project titled “MOM & DAD“, released on June 28, 2024. Building on the success of their previous hit “What You Gonna Do?”, the duo once again offers their delightful musical chemistry.
The MOM & DAD project features two punchy tracks, “MOM & DAD” and “KUDIYE”. These songs are inspired by a fun and flirty storyline between two lovers. Phundo Art wrote these tracks with a playful vision and enlisted his girlfriend SHIKA to add a refreshing female perspective. Their chemistry shines through in every note, resulting in two tracks brimming with energy and confidence.
Phundo Art and SHIKA have showcased their individual talents while creating a seamless musical synergy. SHIKA’s smooth vocals blend perfectly with Phundo Art’s incisive lyrics, making these tracks unique and captivating. The duo has also released a music video for one of the songs, adding a visual dimension to their musical creation.
The two artists plan to continue collaborating, working alongside Dutch producer DUCKTAPE. A new track is already in the works and is expected to be released at the end of summer.
Originally from Soweto and now based in the UK, Phundo Art has built his career by balancing raw aggression and soft emotions in his lyrics. His cultural diversity is evident in his varied discography, where he shares his life experiences through honest lyrics and heartfelt melodies.
His recent releases, “Playboi” and “I4i”, have garnered attention from Spotify playlists such as “African Glow” and radio stations including Reprezent, Kiss FM, and Rinse FM.
