“I regret fueling a controversy about some musical genres. It was completely inappropriate and indecent”. According to Agence France-Presse, this is what French priest Francois Schneider said following a previous comment that Eagles Of Death Metal‘s Bataclan concert was “inspired by Satan”. To explain the bold statement, Schneider added: “Sometimes we are overwhelmed when faced with the diversity and strangeness of some artistic expressions”.
On November 13, rock band Eagles Of Death Metal performed at the Bataclan theatre in France the night that Islamic extremists shot and killed 90 people in the venue. Since then, floods of support from fellow musicians and fans alike have poured in, as well as memorials to those who died on the night. On December 8, the band returned to the Bataclan to pay their respects in person.
