LA synthpop duo Puro Instinct is back on track: sisters Piper and Skylar Kaplan just released their second single from the group’s sophomore LP Autodrama, due out on June 24 via Manifesto Records.
“Peccavi” (Latin for “I have sinned”) is nothing else than a confirmation of the ability of the two sisters in creating rarefied and smoky atmospheres, embellished with 80s synths which vaguely recall the best works of Madonna. The track is definitely gloomier than their first single “Tell Me” – which sounds like a revamped version of “La Isla Bonita” – and the obscure lyrics help in this sense (“I’m always on my own/All alone and crying”), but it nonetheless confirms the huge hype surrounding this second body of work.
