LA-based electronic R&B artist Queen Mars is back with “_godsfavorite”, dropping February 26, 2025. Blending glitchy IDM production with the energy of UK Garage, the track dives into the weird, almost obsessive nature of online admiration; the way we idolize strangers while quietly picking ourselves apart in comparison.
Born and raised in Chicago, Queen Mars grew up in a conservative household, surrounded by gospel music. But thanks to her dad’s love for early 2000s pop, she found herself hooked, downloading everything she could on Limewire, studying pop icons like Britney and Beyoncé, and eventually shaping a sound that’s all her own.
Now based in LA, she’s known for fusing R&B, soul, dark pop, and experimental electronic music with futuristic storytelling that’s as raw as it is hypnotic.
The idea for “_godsfavorite” hit her while she was scrolling on Instagram. “I came across an artist I thought was effortlessly cool,” she shares. “But the more I admired them, the more I caught myself feeling insecure. I don’t think I’m the only one who’s been there, and that’s where this song came from.”
Produced with Salvador Moratillo, the track layers chopped vocals, eerie harmonies, and glitchy textures, capturing the fractured, flickering nature of digital admiration. A music video directed by Haleigh Bolduc is also on the way, promising a dark, neon-soaked aesthetic that perfectly fits Queen Mars’ neon-noir world.
With her upcoming album HUMAN on the horizon, Queen Mars is only getting started. “_godsfavorite” is just the beginning. Listen to “_godsfavorite” Below!
