R.A.E (Rising Above Everything) has teamed up with King Combs and they have dropped a straight banger titled “Not Your Love (Remix)”, which talks about the ups and downs that come with a relationship, but not allowing the negatives distract you from chasing the bag and focusing own your goals.
Speaking about why she chose King Combs to do this remix with, R.A.E says, “When thinking about someone to collaborate with on this remix I couldn’t think of anyone better. King Combs came and brought something you can’t get from a lot of artists – a sense of nostalgia but coolness too. So happy we could make this happen – he made the song sound like a total new song!”
R.A.E has recently been garnering support from the likes of GQ, who expressed “a musical style to rival the decade’s brightest talents“, Complex, who said “R.A.E (Rising Above Everything) is a breath of fresh air”, and Glastonbury, where co-organiser Emily Eavis said about the artist, “Her music is so uplifting and vibrant”.
R.A.E (pronounced as arr-ay-ee) is a singer, rapper and songwriter rooted in 90’s Nostalgia. Back in 2020, the artist won Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent festival, making her the first black woman and rapper to win the competition.
This new song is a remix from the original song featured on her 2020 EP Listen Up. The mix of her R&B led vocals and the natural rap expertise from King Combs makes for a stellar offering.
