Rachel McAdams will look to continue her career renaissance with a starring role in Marvel’s Doctor Strange, opposite Benedict Cumberbatch. The actress has been linked to the as of yet ‘unspecific female role’ since early July, but it wasn’t until now that the Mean Girls and True Detective star confirmed her involvement with Marvel’s next big superhero film while doing press at the Toronto International Film Festival.
McAdams will join the growing cast which includes Cumberbatch in the title role with Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One and Mads Mikkelsen in early talks to play the film’s illusive villain. Scott Derrickson will direct the film that goes into production in November.
