This past Friday saw Ritchie Blackmore take to the stage at Germany’s ‘Monster’s of Rock’ to perform the works of Rainbow and Deep Purple for the first time in nearly two decades.
With an entirely new ensemble of musicians, Blackmore performed a 13 song set including standout hits such as “Since You’ve Been Gone” and “Long Live Rock n’ Roll”, completing the set with the iconic ‘Smoke on the Water’. The performance was particularly memorable for fans, as until now Blackmore had dedicated his musical endeavours to more classical, baroque compositions since the late 90s, with many believing that they would never hear him perform his classic rock tracks again.
