It is estimated that 200,000 music revellers have begun their pilgrimage to this weekends Reading and Leeds Music Festival. The annual festival has become somewhat of a ritual for many teenagers across the nation, with swarms of revellers arriving in on coaches and trains lugging their camping gear with copious amounts of alcohol. Nevertheless, the throngs of fans have had to wait until 8am this morning for the festival to open its gates, permitting music lovers the chance to catch some of their favourite artists from a star-studded line-up. Here are some artists that you don’t want to miss:
Bill Bailey
Headlining the Alternative stage, the comedian will enthral audiences with old favourites such as Insect Nation, Love song and his hilarious rendition of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” interspersed with stand up comedy gold.
Die Antwoord
The South African Avant Garde/Rave duo will be making a rare appearance on the NME Stage at this year’s festival. The duo is notorious for putting on rather bizarre performances designed for shock value.
The Glitch Mob
The three-piece electronic group from Los Angeles have successfully managed to break into the dance mainstream with their serene quirky style. Their unusual blend has been widely tipped to spearhead a new wave of electronic music.
