Rebecca Ferguson first came to wide-spread public attention with her breakout role alongside Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. Since then roles have been placed at her feet by big studios: she is currently filming The Girl on the Train and The Snowman; both adaptions of highly-acclaimed novels. She now has another feature lined up in her already hectic schedule as she has joined the cast of Daniel Espinosa’s new Sci-Fi Life.
Armed with a script from Deadpool and Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Life is cashing in on the public interest surrounding Mars. Taking place on the International Space Station, a sample from Mars has been brought for analysis where it is discovered that the sample shows signs of life more intelligent than expected.
Nothing else has been revealed as of yet, but if Ferguson is set to take the lead for this picture then we could see her in a Sigourney Weaver/Ripley-type role. David Ellison has come on the produce the picture, which leaves the possibility for a Paramount deal, but there is no studio officially attached currently and also no release date.
