The recently confirmed title Alien: Covenant, the follow up to the underwhelming Prometheus, is looking to have more links to the original Alien series. The first prequel only had a brief cameo of the acid-blooded xenomorphs favouring its own Engineer/Black Goo hybrid, the Deacon. Talking to the Wrap director Ridley Scott said “We’ll have them all, egg, face-hugger, chest-burster, then the big boy“. This is pleasing news to fans of the series.
The new film will follow a new team and Scott explained “They’re going to go to the planet where the engineers came from and come across the evolving creature that they had made. Why did they make it? Why would they make such a terrifying beast? It felt bio-mechanoid, it felt like a weapon. And so the movie will explain that, and reintroduce the alien back into it“. Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are returning for Alien: Covenant due for release October 2017.
