Henry Charles, the rising British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, has unveiled his heartfelt new single, “Plastic Stars”, this latest release concludes his debut EP. The piece is beautifully composed and reflects his deeply personal songwriting and production. With moving lyrics and a nostalgic melody, “plastic Stars” is a song ode to sibling love and the promises that are often left unfulfilled.
The track opens with a sweet, mellow chord progression played by the piano, setting a serene mood that complements Charles’s emotive vocals. The vocal melody, seamlessly intertwines with the piano, which draws listers into a cosy contemplative and reflection atmosphere.

In his bedroom studio, Charles, composes, records, mixes, and produces all of his music in addition to creating vibrant oil paintings. His creative method, which he characterises as creating songs like paintings—layering sounds, textures, and emotions to captivate his audience—is closely linked to this do-it-yourself mentality. His art reflects his influences, which range from the thriving London music scene to the old rock stars his father introduced him to.
Through “Plastic Stars” Charles creates a moving story on sibling ties and childhood innocence using clips from old VHS footage of him and his sister singing. The lyrics of the song vividly depicts starry evenings, dreams that are spoken, and the bittersweet sorrow of understanding that life frequently takes us away from the people we once cared about most.
