Rising artist JÁNA, has just released her latest single titled “Carefree”, and has announced her forthcoming album EP Works, which comes out June 4 via Majestic Casual Records. Her style is very unique and creative, she is manly inspired by SZA, Steve Lacy, BADBADNOTGOOD and Frank Ocean, and her new EP has made her dive deeper into her thoughts, learning more about herself as a songwriter.
She has received acclaim from the likes of Lyrical Lemonade, The Line Of Best Fit, The FADER and COLORS already, and her new single “Carefree” is sure to receive more support from tastemakers across the globe.
When speaking about “Carefree”, JÁNA says it, “is about feeling free after a breakup or being hooked on somebody. To finally feel free in your own company and to enjoy it. It’s the last song on the EP and I wanted to bring some sort of peace and futuristic endless vision as the closing for ‘Works’“.
The singer also explained the process of creating her forthcoming project, “On this new EP I’ve got more verbal with my anger and frustrations. It’s kind of scary but also liberating to me, because I rarely express these things in real life. I think you should write things that scare you or at least something to awaken that frustration“.
