Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr. is set to join Chris Evans’ Captain America for its third installment! Marvel fans, go nuts! Variety reported the story that’s pretty major in the Marvel world. According to the exclusive, Captain America 3 will focus on a Civil War story line, where we find the Captain and Iron Man up against each other.
The new superhero beef between the two, stems from a dispute with the Superhero Registration Act, which forces anybody with special powers to come forward and make their identity known to the U.S Government so that they can act as police force. Interesting. Turns out Tony Stark’s all for it but Captain America’s alter ego, Steve Rogers, isn’t.
Apparently, Marvel big-man, Ike Perlmutter, wasn’t best pleased with the idea of Downey Jr. having a big role in the movie but Kevin Feige found it to be a brilliant way of bringing in the Civil War into the narrative! This kind of destroys any hope of having an Iron Man 4, but does mean we should get a couple of more Captain America’s coming our way – swings and roundabouts. You can see how all this pans out when Captain America 3 opens in UK cinemas on April 29, 2016!
